trying to find the polarized version of their obsession. so I'm just noticing this now but why the hell are ny publications (national ones too? hell I dunno...) going nuts over that damn bright eyes guy now?? I swear he's simultaneously gracing a minimum of three ny-based magazine covers with his goddamn smug-ass smirk. I think it was maybe 5-6 years ago I tried checking his stuff out for an entire summer and I simply couldn't find one redeeming quality about his songs. but now this guy moves to nyc and suddenly he's the indie magnate? well, sure, if you're anointing him as such. I think the root of what's pissing me off is that this guy's been making music for-fucking-ever and one day he decides to move to nyc and then all the magazines around here decide he's the next whatever (the next dylan? are you serious?). I suppose it's not his fault he's been around all this time doing his thing... whatever, the magazines will keep hyping him up only to ignore him in a few months. the same exact thing happened with dashboard.
